Maria Diamond Receives 2016 Wiedemann & Wysocki Award
Maria Diamond has been named a recipient of the 2016 Wiedemann Wysocki Award by the American Association for Justice (AAJ). AAJ presents the award annually to AAJ members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to protecting the civil justice system through political outreach efforts and supporting AAJ's mission - “to promote a fair and effective justice system and to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms, even when taking on the most powerful interests.”
The award is named in honor of Fritz Wiedemann and James Anthony Wysocki, two New Orleans-based attorneys and active AAJ members who were traveling on an assignment to assist AAJ when they died in a traffic plane crash. Recipients of the award have carried on the legacy of Wiedemann and Wysocki through extraordinary leadership and contributions.
Maria will receive the Wiedemann Wysocki award at the AAJ annual convention in Los Angeles on July 23, 2016. She is a five-time recipient of the award, receiving it the first time in 2004. “I am extremely honored to be recognized by AAJ and my fellow trial lawyers. This award mirrors my long-time efforts to obtain justice for my clients and protect the rights of ordinary citizens using our great American legal system.”
