Maria Diamond Receives 2018 AAJ Award
Maria Diamond has been named a recipient of the Wiedemann & Wysocki Award by the American Association for Justice (AAJ). AAJ presents the award annually to AAJ members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to protecting the civil justice system through political outreach efforts and supporting AAJ’s mission: “To promote a fair and effective justice system and to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms, even when taking on the most powerful interests.”
The award is named in honor of Fritz Wiedemann and James Anthony Wysocki, two New Orleans-based attorneys and active AAJ members who were traveling on an AAJ assignment when they died in a tragic plane crash. Recipients of the award have carried on their legacy through extraordinary leadership and contributions.
Maria will be honored at the AAJ annual convention in Denver on July 9, 2018. She is an unprecedented six-time recipient of the award, receiving it for the first time in 2004. “I am deeply honored to be recognized by AAJ and my fellow trial lawyers,” Maria says. “This award reflects my long-time efforts to obtain justice for my clients and to protect and defend the civil justice system.”
