Texas Jury Returns $498 Million Verdict Against Pinnacle Metal Hip Replacements

On March 17, 2016, a Texas federal jury returned a $498 million Pinnacle metal hip verdict against device makers Johnson & Johnson and DePuy Orthopaedics in favor of five separate plaintiffs who claimed their metal-on-metal Pinnacle hip implants were defective and caused them significant injury.
