Maria Diamond Receives 2022 AAJ Civil Justice Award

Maria Diamond of Seattle’s Diamond~Massong has been named a recipient of the Wiedemann & Wysocki Award by the American Association for Justice (AAJ) for the ninth time.

AAJ annually honors a member who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to protecting the civil justice system through political outreach efforts and supporting AAJ’s mission: “To promote a fair and effective justice system and to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms, even when taking on the most powerful interests.”

The award honors Fritz Wiedemann and James Anthony Wysocki, two New Orleans-based attorneys and active members who were traveling on an AAJ assignment when they died in a tragic plane crash. Recipients of the award have carried on their legacy through extraordinary leadership and contributions.

Maria was honored at the AAJ annual convention in Seattle on July 18, 2022. She is an unprecedented nine-time recipient of the award, receiving it for the first time in 2004. “I am deeply honored to be recognized by AAJ and my fellow trial lawyers,” Maria says. “This award reflects my long-time passion to obtain justice for my clients and to protect and defend America’s civil justice system.”
